While riding out of Cleveland through Ohio, Indiana parts of
Michigan and into
Wisconsin there were mile after mile after mile of corn, corn, corn! Much of it feed corn and for ethanol. I am all for supporting the American farmer and rancher. It takes 100 lbs. of feed to produce 1 lb. of beef. What if we cut down on some beef consumption? We could plant more of these fields full of crops for human
consumption and then perhaps we would have to import less food by
producing more food here. Just a thought.
Traffic has been interesting because there has been very little. It's been a great surprise. I was in Cleveland at rush hour, in the city.....I may have waited 10 minutes to move through the city. Try that in
Manhattan! The worse road was 90 West in Gary Indiana. The road was in
horrible condition and the drivers were careless. Traffic wasn't fun on the "loop" in
Chicago either. But again, when compared to the New York City area, it wasn't that bad.
