Americade 2009, Lake George, N.Y.

This month was the annual Americade motorcycle rally in Lake George, N.Y. The show was arranged a little different then usual. More vendors by the lake in the tent section and less in town.

A very cool product at the show was from a company called "Rocker Boards." They are making a line of what I would call scooters, seen above. They are made to look like very early bikes. The scooters are automatic and look like they will be a fun novelty bike. They will be available on the market soon.

The weather kept some people away this year. (For those of you from northern New Jersey I don't have to tell you that we have had about 30 straight days of rain). When we left Jersey for Lake George it was pouring rain but it started to clear up around Albany. Then we had good riding weather for the rest of the trip. Check out the next post for a continuation of this trip and a ride to the top of Whiteface Mountain.

Hey Frank! Fellow Jersey rider here ...just stumbled on your blog while looking up info on this years Americade ( we've gone for the last 15) and yes! the ride up in '09 was a wet one. Quite a surprize to see your pix of our buddy Steves' Old Feild line of bikes- can't wait to send him the link!
Will you be going up again this year? Pat S.

Hey Pat, thanks for your comments. Yeah those Old Feild line of bikes are very cool and look like fun. I'm not sure about going to Americade this year. Like you I've been going for many years, probably been up for the last 10. I have some other bike trips planned for this year. Thanks for sharing my site with your friend. Please pass it along to anyone you know who likes to ride. Please check back offten because I will be posting all of the trips I take this year and I would love to hear your comments. I hope to see you on the road soon. Frank
